BlackBerry PlayBook

"Research In Motion’s retail partners have begun slashing prices on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet in an effort to bolster unimpressive sales". “The BlackBerry PlayBook is RIM’s first tablet, and it is also the first device to launch with the company’s new QNX-based mobile operating system”. And why would they think people would be buying this product? In an effort to compete surely, but did they really think they could compete with the likes of Apple? The same with computers and phones, now we see a race to be the best in the tablet market. With the iPad and Samsung Galaxy, who else can compare? I feel bad for the lowest ones on the totem poll, who there will always be someone. I think the company cannot be mad or complain at their sales, when they know what they have to go up against. Their leading competitors have so much more to offer as far as quality of service, they device itself, and a longer track record.

  1. This was a difficult read since it was black on black. I got through it though. Anyway, introducing a new or similar product is always risky. Reasons may be varied for the failure of the Playbook tablet to be unsuccessful. BlackBerry may not have marketed their product. They may have also ventured into a market that was not their bread or butter. I'm not a person that would purchase the Blackberry or Apple version since I would not want to be seen lugging one of those things around. Neither of them will get my business. I don't see an issue pulling out an 8 1/2 by 11 in. paper notebook to jot down my notes. Old dogs can't be taught new tricks at times.
